Is benzoyl peroxide safe to use?
Yes. Health regulators and dermatology associations consider benzoyl peroxide a safe, trusted acne ingredient when used as directed.
I read benzoyl peroxide can turn into benzene. Is that true?
Benzoyl peroxide only breaks down into benzene under extreme heat, like weeks at 50°C in a lab. It doesn't happen with normal use and room-temperature storage.
How should I store it?
Keep it in a cool, dry place like a medicine cabinet. Don't leave it in a hot car, in direct sun, or near a heater.
Can I use it all over my face?
Yes. Mix a small amount into your moisturizer for all-over prevention. Start every other day if your skin is sensitive.
Will it bleach my towels?
It can. Like all benzoyl peroxide products, it may bleach fabric, so use white towels and pillowcases.
